I have seen discussions here about it, but as far as I'm concerned, any failure of the iPod Support Service is a bug, not a feature.Ĭan I suggest that you look on the optimistic side and go ahead with the latest version of iTunes when your new computer arrives, in the expectation that everything will work as it's supposed to? If you do experience problems, start new discussion describing the symptoms you are experiencing, not what you think the problem is. I have used (and updated) iTunes for many years and I have never had a missing iPod Support Service message or found a need to download and install any additional files (and yes, I do use iPods). You make it sound as though Apple have deliberately offered (for download) an incomplete version of iTunes. That they would release it like that - obviously for some reason.
I'm just a little miffed about the latest version on their website.
